Carrera Larga Health Center. Drops Of Life
In many corners of the world, access to safe drinking water remains a monumental challenge. The lack of this essential resource affects the health, development and quality of life of thousands of people, especially in marginalized communities. However, initiatives such as the donation of water purifiers are making a significant difference.
In remote communities such as Carrera Larga, clean water is not always available or accessible. Families often resort to contaminated water sources, which can cause waterborne diseases such as diarrhea and cholera. According to the World Health Organization, these diseases remain a leading cause of mortality in areas with limited access to clean water.
A water purification system is a big change for communities, not only improving public health, but also having a positive impact on various aspects of community life. Families can spend less time fetching water and more time on productive activities, which translates into a greater ability to work, study and participate in economic activities that drive the development of their own community.
There are many testimonials that endorse the contribution made to the communities, but on this occasion we would like to present the testimony of Mario Rosales, a member of the water committee, who, representing his community, gives us a few words of thanks.
"The installation will benefit the whole town, we thank all the organizations that are supporting us on behalf of the whole town... Thank you".
We cannot forget that this would not have been possible without the support of the Castillo Family and organizations such as the Universidad Campesina del Sur, Guerrero es Primero, Banco de Alimentos de México, Centro Mexicano para la Filantropía, Centro Nacional de Apoyo para Contingencias Epidemiológicas y Desastres, Unidos Por Ellos and Fundación Walmart México, as each one contributes in their own way a grain of sand that contributes to a better world.
We would also like to give special thanks to Carlos García, Adriana Paz and Marco Antonio Jaramillo, from UNICAM, because with their wonderful guidance and work we were able to reach the right places and the right people.
