La Parota Health Center. From Contaminated Water To Renewed Hope
The La Parota health center is responsible for providing medical attention to everyone in the community. The main diseases that affect the inhabitants are diarrheal infections caused by inadequate water sanitation, as well as the difficult access to clean and potable water.
For these reasons, Water Saves Lives, OXFAM Mexico, Citibanamex Fomento Social and Fundación Estafeta joined forces to install a water purification system that will provide clean and potable water to this community.
Cristo García, head doctor of the health center shares the following:
“The importance of this type of project is because the most powerful weapon in this type of community is the prevention of diarrheal diseases, which are close. We are very grateful for the effort made by the colleagues of clarity, for making this donation…”.

Although La Parota is part of a group of communities that obtain water from the wells supplied by the Papagayo River, during rainy seasons or hurricanes such as Otis, the quality of the water is affected. These communities, due to their remoteness, have been forgotten to their fate, for this reason we reiterate our gratitude to all those donor organizations that make possible the humanitarian support to these localities.
Its clear that without the support of OOXFAM Mexico, Citibanamex Fomento Social and Fundación Estafeta we would not have been able to reach this community. A special thanks to Ivan from OXFAM Mexico for accompanying us day by day and connecting with the community.
