Cacahuatepec Municipal Commissariat. The Call For Solidarity And Teamwork
After the arrival of Hurricane Otis, the lack of drinking water supply has become one of the main concerns of the inhabitants of Cacahuatepec. In these times of emergency, the solidarity and mutual help of the representatives of the communities are noticeable, in order to solve the problems.
On this occasion, Federico Valeriano, community commissioner, shared with us his most sincere thanks for the generous donation of the water purification equipment by Water Saves Lives, OXFAM Mexico, Citibanamex Fomento Social and Fundación Estafeta, which was installed in the municipal police station of the town, a central and easily accessible location so that all the people of the community can have drinking water at no cost.
It is important to highlight the importance of the collaboration with OXFAM Mexico, since water is scarce in Cacahuatepec, in addition to the fact that there is no infrastructure to store it. Therefore, the necessary adjustments were made so that the water purification equipment is always working.
These actions exemplify the importance of collaboration and teamwork with people in the community, other organizations and our donors. All this to strengthen communities in adverse situations, helping us to ensure their wellbeing and health.
Furthermore, with this type of support we can be sure that we are on the way to reducing health problems caused by contaminated water and, as a result, the population's access to a better quality of life.
