Huamuchitos Teachers' House. Inspiring Acts That Change Realities

One of the main problems that afflict the inhabitants is the lack of drinking water or even enough resources to buy a jug of water. During the rainy season they store it in pools for drinking.Since the water is not treated in any way, it makes them sick.

Leodegaria Vázquez, a member of the water committee, commented the following:

“We are happy because this benefit that they brought to the community of Huamuchitos is going to be something good. There are many diseases because the water is contaminated and we are going to drink clean water, we will no longer drink raw water. We are grateful to this organization for helping us so much”.

In situations of adversity there are always people who emerge willing to make a difference and provide help to those who need it most, so we give special thanks to the teachers who facilitated the conditions to make the installation possible, supplying all families in the community of Huamuchitos.

In addition, it should be added that the cooperation of the mothers who are members of the committee was fundamental, as they were present at all times and willing to support the Water Saves Lives and OXFAM Mexico team in the installation of the water purification equipment. These actions show us that if people work together, any type of adversity can be overcomed and that the impulse of a few can inspire more people to get involved to generate a positive change that will help them improve their quality of life.

In times of need, it is important to highlight the support of organizations such as Water Saves Lives, OXFAM Mexico, Citibanamex Fomento Social and Fundación Estafeta, who are concerned about supporting the people who need it most, demonstrating that it is possible to change the reality in which many mexicans live today.
