Technical High School Number 194 “Coloso Acapulco”. Awakening Hopes
Despite the fact that its been over a year when in October 2023 Hurricane Otis hit Acapulco, there are still vulnerable communities that require support and humanitarian aid to move forward. Thanks to the work of various organizations, these communities find hope in these difficult times, as is the case of “El Coloso” High School.
The high school is characterized by a high rate of poverty that has worsened after the meteorological disaster. José Juan Alemán, a member of the controlaría, told us the following,
“The purified water would be very useful because there are young people who do not have the resources to buy water, and they could hydrate themselves in this way, so that they do not go thirsty”.
The campus had a drinking fountain that was donated in previous years, but the school authorities tell us that it stopped working and those who installed it never gave it any more maintenance. These testimonies make us aware of the importance of giving follow-up and continuity to this type of program. Examples that are relevant for Water Saves Lives and its donors and reiterate the commitment to timely and efficient follow-up so that students, teachers and community members have access to quality drinking water at no cost.

This initiative is not only a commitment we have with the wellbeing of the communities, but also an inspiring example for donations in other places with a high rate of marginalization.
We invite you to join us through your valuable donation, in order to provide access to drinking water in more communities and thus contribute to the development and well-being of those who need it most.
