Otis caused destruction of homes, power outages and left thousands of people without access to a basic necessity, clean drinking water. The shortage of clean water supply quickly became a serious problem, especially for schools in the region that serve as centers of education and shelter for the community.
In response to this need, Water Saves Lives in conjunction with the Alumbra Innovations Foundation joined the humanitarian relief effort and installed the water treatment plant that will provide Carlos A. Carrillo Elementary School and its entire community with clean drinking water at no cost.
"It will benefit a school enrollment of around 700 students, and we are talking about benefiting their families as well, because we will keep the doors open for them to come, replenish and benefit from the water".
For his part, Isaul Vargas, director of the afternoon shift, gave his sincere thanks.
"We thank Clarity very much and we hope they continue to expand the coverage of this support, since many schools need it.
