San José Patriarca Parish. Always At The Service Of The Community
In this location began the series of installations that we are carrying out thanks to your donations through the Water Saves Lives For Acapulco initiative, in collaboration with Clarity Systems.
After the devastating hurricane that hit Acapulco, affecting thousands of families, the parishes were a point of support for the residents, offering social services such as food and medicine distribution to marginalized communities in the coastal area of Guerrero. The San José Patriarca parish was chosen because it would benefit more than 19,750 inhabitants of the town of Bajos del Ejido.
As soon as the installation of the equipment was finished, the parish priest Mario Palma, who was in charge of the site, rang the bells to let the people know that they could now go to the church to get water. The church was immediately filled with happy residents ready to fill their jerry cans, buckets and bottles with clean water.

In the words of Mr. Adrian Galeano, a resident of the community and an active member of the parish
“It has helped a lot because there was a lack of water and it was very difficult to get it after the hurricane”.
After the installation of the water treatment plant, the parish opens its doors every day of the week so that the residents can have access to clean and healthy water at any time.
Water Saves Lives has brought water to more than 25,000 people, and it is important to note that this is the first time we have participated in a situation classified as a national and international disaster.

More donations of water purifiers translate into more healthy children and families. Keep donating, with your help we can reach more communities!
