Sagrado Corazón De Jesús Parish. A Meeting Place That Helps To Help

Caritas is an organization that operates nationally and internationally promoting charity, peace and solidarity. It also contributes to the human and integral development of people in poverty, vulnerability, marginalization and natural disasters. That is why the church even before the arrival of the hurricane had been a meeting point for other parishes and chapels of neighboring communities, since it has long been a strategic ally of Caritas and also one of the most central precincts of Acapulco

Father Leo as he is affectionately called by all the people of the community, is a fighter for human rights, always supporting the community with various programs such as medical, psychological or educational workshops.

On this occasion, his compound operated as a food and clothing collection center, there was electricity and internet, in addition to functioning as a dining room and shelter. All the services they provide are free of charge and they were also able to provide access to purified water, about which Father Leo expressed:

“We are very happy because this donation they have made is very significant, we know that water is a basic necessity, I think many families will be happy to have the possibility of receiving water”.

A couple of weeks after the installation, we returned to the parish to verify that everything was going well and Arturo Alejandro, parochial vicar, was pleased to let us know that

“This purification equipment has been very useful, since it helps us above all to have a place where we can drink clean water”.

It is a pleasure for us to support so many people who really need it and being helped by such an important organization as Caritas. That is why we must not lower our guard, remember that with your help we can reach more communities.
