3 Pozos. What an Honor it is to Help Change Lives!
Imagine that you have to walk 40 minutes several times a day to give your family a glass of water.
Imagine that the water is murky and you only have firewood to boil it with, hoping that it will not harm them.
This is the reality for the women and children of the community of 3 Pozos, where, paradoxically, drinking water is scarce.
Arriving in the town evokes mixed feelings. On the one hand, its vegetation and landscapes make you feel like you are in paradise; on the other hand, it is an injustice to realize that the remoteness of the urban sprawl condemns these communities to live in precarious conditions and without access to basic rights.

From the beginning, we had the opportunity to talk with the school children and their mothers; with the help of a translator, we learned a little about them and their daily lives. Most of the residents speak Tzeltal, their native language, and very few speak Spanish.
When they told us about the water they drink, I understood that the families hardly realize the danger of drinking contaminated water, since they have adopted rainwater and well water as their source of supply, without having any other options.
Can you imagine drinking the cloudy water you collect from the well every day? You will probably say that this water is not drinkable, but for them it was their only option.

That is why we went there, hand in hand with Clarity and with the help of our members
We arrived to change the reality of the children, a high percentage of whom suffer from gastrointestinal diseases.
We also helped women like Doña Petrona, who suffers from respiratory diseases and cataracts from preparing food and boiling water with firewood in their closed kitchens.
That's what Water Saves Lives is all about, helping people like Tavita, Séfora, Doña Petrona, and the h40 families who live in this community to have access to pure, clean water which in turn makes their lives healthier.

Also helping Lucy, Mary and many more girls who get to go to school instead of walking miles to help their moms carry water buckets.
With each project, I am reminded of the importance of sharing the good news with the Clarity community. The message that together we can change realities and that these "small" actions can create big changes.
To be able to help the people of 3 Pozos is an honor, and to see how many lives we can change is a source of pride that deserves to be shared to inspire more people.
Thank you for being part of the transformation!
We will continue to water the seeds so that more families can have a brighter future. The plan is to continue to bring purification systems to more communities in Chiapas that need them so much, and to other areas of the country. Follow us, join us and let's spread wellness.
