Goretti Shelter House. Clarity Brings New Smiles to Querétaro
Water Saves Lives empowers a new community of at-risk girls in Querétaro.
Saby, a Story of Hope and Inspiration
11 years ago, Sabina arrived at Goretti Shelter House after being abandoned by her family. She was 4 years old and could not do anything by herself, not even eat or bathe. She was very isolated, had difficulty walking and had a very serious colon and thyroid problem. At the institution she was diagnosed with autism.
Like Saby, most of the girls come to Goretti Shelter House because their parents have lost custody due to neglect, physical and/or sexual abuse, and they are in danger or have been abandoned.
The girls are cared for by 10 nuns who are certified home care workers and who do an extraordinary job, full of love and care. Their priority is to restore the dignity and well-being of these little girls.
This place has given them all a better quality of life. Saby, as her caregivers and companions call her, has been seeing a gastroenterologist, a neurologist and an endocrinologist since she arrived, and she continues to see them.
The support we have been able to provide thanks to you
It fills us with joy to be able to contribute to the great work they do at Goretti Shelter House, where they strive every day to provide a dignified life and well-being for the girls.
At the center, Clarity through Water Saves Lives installed two water purifiers in the kitchen and dining room to provide quality water to the girls and their caregivers; this installation will allow the girls to be self-sufficient in their hydration.
Now they will be able to use the budget they used to spend on 20 water bottles a week for food, therapies and materials to support the girls' education.
Let's get more support
Thanks to the growing community of members, Clarity Water Perfect and Water Saves Lives are able to install one water purification system each month in homes, vulnerable communities or community centers that need help to have quality drinking water.
"Just to Help" Membership
Thanks to your valuable contribution, we can continue our mission month after month to give more girls and boys access to clean drinking water.
